Information only

The site describes a product in development and tests of its method on public data. Nothing on it is a forecast for any facility, crop or season, and nothing on it is financial, trading, insurance, legal or agronomic advice. Do not buy, sell, price, hedge, insure or reject grain on the basis of anything published here.

Backtest results

The results on the How we test page are historical backtests: models applied to past seasons, each predicted from earlier seasons only. They are hypothetical, depend on the public data and methods described, and may change if the data or methods change. Past results do not guarantee future results.

Public data

The backtests use public data from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, NOAA and the U.S. Census Bureau. Forward Grade is not affiliated with or endorsed by any government agency, and those agencies are not responsible for our analysis.

No warranty

The site and everything on it are provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Forward Grade LLC and its members are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, grain value or data, arising from your use of or reliance on the site. Any pilot or paid service will be governed by its own written agreement, not by these terms.

Ownership

The site's text, design, charts and code belong to Forward Grade LLC. You may link to the site and quote short passages with attribution. The Archivo typeface is used under the SIL Open Font License (license text). Public government data remains in the public domain.

Accessibility

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. If anything on the site is hard to use with your device or assistive technology, email adrian@forwardgrade.com and we will fix it or send you the information another way.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Dakota, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
